    • Emily S (March 2018)

My husband and I are huge LOTR fans our dog is even named after one of the characters, so we did quite a few LOTR tours while in New Zealand. We were extremely happy with this tour. The scenery was gorgeous. Yes, you could probably drive to these places yourself, but would most likely get lost. It helped having a tour guide know where we were going. Our favorite spot was playing with the swords in the forest. We had an epic battle scene that made the tour.

    • woodsyrice (February 2018)

I was hesitant about taking this tour as I figured it would be hokey Lord of the Rings stuff. I am NOT a LOTR buff, but wanted to see the scenery. I am so glad I went! Our tour guide was an old hippie who knew his stuff, told fascinating stories and was great with the small group. I can't even begin to describe the scenery. Highly recommend!

    • Roy H (February 2018)

Probably one of the best day-trips I had in the 2 weeks while in New Zealand. Guide was big into the movie and detailed out every single stop. I would consider a must-do if in Christchurch.

    • Bernadette L (January 2018)

Our driver/guide, Renato was friendly and cheerful. He knew what he was talking about and nothing was too much trouble.

    • Poi Lin G (January 2018)

      This tour was amazing!

    • Bernane S (January 2018)

Santiago, our tour guide, was just the best! We can tell how passionate he is with the movies that were filmed in these sites, especially The Lord of the Rings. He was not only a good storyteller, he was very helpful and very friendly. Thanks!

    • Hilton S (November 2017)

This was a very enjoyable and interesting tour, especially for a Lord of the Rings fan. Badger was a great, very knowledgeable tour guide.

    • Carol Ann R (October 2017)

For LOTR fanatics, this tour is a must! Badger was full of energy and enthusiasm explaining in detail the filming locations. And for those who would love to enjoy the beautiful scenery outside of Queenstown, have this in your list. Glenorchy and Paradise are not to be missed!

    • Martha B (August 2017)

Very good tour! This area is so different from Queenstown and the Milford Sound area. I have never seen the Lord of the Rings but this area is absolutely beautiful.

    • Margaret G (July 2017)

    • E M w (June 2017)

Amazing scenery and friendly knowledgeable guide.Taken to several movie locations and there were props and costumes to dress up if you wanted.Only thing to maybe be I would be picky about was that I felt vehicle was over crowded

It was the highlight of the trip for our 9 and 10 year olds as they knew it all!! Badger was a fantastic guide and had all the info right on hand. Scenery and additional movie information just spectacular and very enlightening.

    • Brian W (January 2017)

Travelling out from Queenstown the drive to Glenorchy and onto the Lord Of The Rings locations was very spectacular with vies of Lake Wakapito. We had a very informative guide with photos of the movie scenes so you could relate to the vision in front of you. In the forest swords and daggers together with other movie items were available for guests to wear and play with. A great morning out. Thanks Nomad.

    • Hunter (December 2016)

This tour is excellent, no wasted time here. Breath taking views and scenery, excellent, easy way to get out and around town and learn a lot of interesting information about where movies were created at in the area. More than just LOTR is talked about on this tour. The guide brought along a binder full of images of movie scenes that you actually go visit, drive through, stand at. You may even get a chance to re create some famous scenes. Don't skip out on this tour if you're in Queenstown!

If you are a Lord of the Rings fan this tour is your way to see the locations for some of the film. Our guide was very knowledgeable and had pictures of what the scene looks like in the film. Our group did scene reenactments with capes and swords provided. Great fun and worth the money.
